Maladies pile up. Feet deform before our eyes,
And you got a back that does the same.
Some sort of dementia seems to be
starting to get a grip on you now.

We can't tell what it is for sure
But the possibilities are all bleak.

A few bills a month, you will take the penalty
Because you got no choice (and a diminishing voice).
Social Security only comes once a month
And there's only so much (a pitiful amount, really).
The reverse mortgage is empty
And there will never be any equity
In that skinny 3-story condominium.

We can't figure it all out for sure
But the possibilities are all bleak.

Safety net ain't so safe when the safety net is all you got.
